I created HEPNET to see who works with whom, who cites whose work, and which topics are being studied around the world.

Behind every paper there are people, groups and conversations. Our community brings together people from different cultures, backgrounds and parts of the world. I find that diversity beautiful, and I wanted to build something that makes these connections easier to see.

I think we need more tools that help us engage with each other as a community. For me, HEPNET is a way to discover people with shared interests, speak with groups beyond our own, and start conversations that could become collaborations.

Another dimension to INSPIRE

HEPNET brings a visual dimension to INSPIRE: a way to explore the relationships around its papers and researchers. Seeing these connections on a map can help us find common interests, discover other groups and reach people we might otherwise never meet.
